This work brings to mind the votive chapels found in some of the world‘s most traditional cities.
These small temples are used to venerate and remember personalities or symbols of a cult, religious or otherwise.
This work lends itself to venerating something non-material, but equally important in our society.
The Time.
Inspired by the thought of the wayfarer who experiences the world through his journey, this Aedicula proposes itself
as a small temple of resistance against turbo-tourism, turbo-work, turbo-stress.
An ode to time as a common and precious good.
Here one can concentrate, and wait for the time that does not pass.
At the centre Bastione’s current artistic project is an exploration of the theme of ‘New Materialism’, a philosophical approach that focuses on the reciprocal relationships between matter, culture and social structures.
Consciously provisional and „under construction“, but at the same time also about the poetic and to a certain extent
the romantic.“ Bastione‘s work rejects identification with patterns and structures; hardly anything is defined and
fixed.
